I've spent my entire life here in West Michigan. My journey into public service started in my early twenties when I was elected to serve on my local Board of Education. While on the school board, I championed common-sense policies, balanced budgets and safe schools.

More recently I was appointed to (and elected Chair of) the Allegan County Broadband Action Workgroup, which has been working to connect over 10,000 homes to reliable and affordable internet through a public-private partnership. I've been steadfast in my commitment to the people. I have a proven track record of bringing us together to fight for our communities, our shared values and our futures. I know how to get things done and I'll work with anyone –– from any party –– serious about moving Michigan forward.

In my spare time, I volunteer with various community organizations and enjoy getting out to explore our great state.
  • Accelerating Michigan's economy by ensuring working people have a fair deal in the workplace and putting more money back into their pockets. I believe we need more livable wage jobs with good benefits, infrastructure built to last and thriving small businesses.
  • Protecting our most fundamental freedoms including the right to vote as well as the right to choose how and when to start a family.
  • Keeping our communities safe by fully funding public safety, supporting members of our National Guard, passing common-sense policies and ensuring Extreme Risk Protection Orders remain in place.
I'm passionate about public education. As a proud product of public schools and having served on my local school board, I believe everyone deserves access to a great public education. I will always stand up for students, teachers, and parents. In Lansing, I will work to ensure all kids have safe, nurturing schools to attend, and teachers have the resources they need and the pay they deserve.

I'm also passionate about the environment. Just last year, I worked with the Michigan League of Conservation Voters to hold large utility companies accountable for their lack of reliable service. Through our advocacy we passed the Clean Energy Future package –– which was a historic step for reliability, affordability and sustainability.
Representatives swear to uphold the Constitution of the State Michigan and of the United States.

As your State Representative, I will show up every day and put in the people's work. I'll continue to build relationships with other elected officials, community leaders, organizations and other stakeholders. I've found it's important to ask the right questions of the right people when making decisions. I’ve built these relationships before and it’s why I have the endorsement of so many elected officials and trusted organizations in this race. I know how to get things done and promise to work as hard as the people of Michigan's 42nd House District do.
