Blackmon-Balogun published the following ballot statement on her campaign website:

My desire is to help local youth succeed began nearly two decades ago when I was hired to be an instructional aide right here in the Inland Empire. My desire grew stronger when I became a classroom teacher at a local elementary teaching 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades.

Today, I have no greater joy than seeing local students reach their goals. As a middle school instructor and author, I know education is the key to a bright future.

Being asked by students, parents and fellow educators to run for the Fontana Unified School District Governing Board encouraged me to seek this important office. My background as a classroom teacher provides unique perspectives as to what is truly effective for our students.

Recently, I had the privilege of working with state education leaders to improve the quality of education for school districts throughout California. My experience allows me to implement these changes in our district.

As a mother, I want my child to have the best education. As a teacher, I want to be the best educator. As a governing, board member, I want our schools to be the best.

I sincerely ask for your vote. Thank you.[2]
