Ayne Amjad (Republican Party) ran for election to the U.S. House to represent West Virginia's 3rd Congressional District. She lost in the Republican primary on May 8, 2018.

Biography

Ayne Amjad was born in Beckley, West Virginia and lives in Raleigh County, West Virginia. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. Amjad earned a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from Virginia Tech, an M.P.H. from West Virginia University, and an M.D. from Marshall University School of Medicine. Her career experience includes working as a medical doctor in Beckley and Princeton and as the stroke director at Health South Southern Hills in Princeton. Amjad founded the "palm diet," which she describes as a "[a diet] to reduce obesity [by emphasizing] portion control and healthy eating choices of what is already available to a household."[1]
