An effort to recall Sharon Heard, Brenda King and Chasity Moye from the Baker County Board of Education in Georgia was launched in November 2013. The recall effort failed after a December ruling by a county judge found no merits to the Community Council's claims.
Recall supporter arguments
Heard, King and Moye were targeted for allegedly ignoring board meeting rules, firing experienced teachers, hiring school officials with no educational background and misappropriating taxpayer funds. The effort was supported by the Baker County Community Council.[1] There are a total of five members on the Board of Education.[2]

In early November 2013, the Baker County Community Council submitted 300 signatures to the county election supervisor.[1] A Baker County judge ruled on December 20, 2013 that the recall could not go forward. The ruling noted petitioners lacked sufficient evidence of malpractice or illegal actions by board members to initiate a recall.[3]
