#FridayFact Answer
Have you ever stood in an hours-long line on Black Friday in pursuit of an unmissable deal? If so, you’ve probably come up with some pretty creative ways to pass the time while you waited. But have you ever used that time to petition for the recall of one of your elected officials? This week's special Black #FridayFact asked: Which state was it? You chose from the following responses:
The correct answer was Arizona. Proponents of an effort to recall State Superintendent of Public Instruction Diane Douglas (R) encouraged people in their Facebook group to discuss recalling Douglas over the Thanksgiving weekend and to sign up petitioners in Black Friday shopping lines. The recall campaign collected 40,000 of the 366,000 required to move the recall forward, and the petition failed.
