  • Hickenlooper kicked off his campaign with a rally in Denver, Colorado. He called for an end to divisiveness, saying, “At the end of my presidency, I want Americans to say: ‘It feels like the cloud has lifted. We feel closer to our neighbors and we’ve gotten some big things done.’”

  • Klobuchar criticized the sentence Paul Manafort received for bank and tax fraud, which fell below the sentencing guidelines. She wrote, “Crimes committed in an office building should be treated as seriously as crimes committed on a street corner. Can’t have two systems of justice!”

On the Cusp: Tracking Potential Candidates

  • Joe Biden’s preparations for his presidential campaign are in their final stages and he is expected to announce his candidacy by mid-April, CBS News reported.

  • Sherrod Brown announced that he would not run for president in 2020, following listening tours in Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, and South Carolina. “We’ve seen candidates begin taking up the dignity of work fight ...  It is how we beat Trump, and it is how we should govern. That’s why I’m confident it will continue to be a focus for Democrats in 2020, and I plan on making sure that happens,” he said in a statement.

  • Steve Bullock has hired Jenn Ridder, who managed Jared Polis’ successful 2018 gubernatorial campaign, as a policy adviser.

  • A documentary about Beto O’Rourke’s 2018 Senate campaign, Running with Beto, will premiere at SXSW Saturday.
