Project

Appointed by Governor-badge.png

The goal of this project is to create DPL generated pages that list all of the judges appointed by the current governors in all fifty states. By providing information on these judges, we will collect aggregate data that can be utilized for comparison.

Building pages

All appointing governor pages should be uniform. They will each include:

Image

An image of the governor

Intro

A brief synopsis of the governor: when she/he was elected, the political party to which she/he belongs, and a link to the corresponding page on Ballotpedia.

Appointment process

A paragraph will explain the appointment process in the state. Things to include are:

  • Is there a judicial nominating commission?
  • Does the governor have final say over appointments? If not, what body must confirm the judge?
  • How long does the judge serve before facing election or retention?
  • Link to judicial selection state page

Appointed judges tables

  • DPLs should be split up by court
  • Tables will include: judge's name, court appointed to, active dates, and previous position.

Example

For an example, visit: Judges appointed by Rick Scott.

Redirect

Make sure to create a redirect from the governor's name as well for easy navigation!

Categories

Only one category will be on the page:

category:Appointing governors, (State)

Templates

Add {{Gov}} to the talk pages.
