Senior judges are judges who, though officially retired, continue to hear cases on the court. This project addresses standardization for the pages of state senior judges. An example of the correct format for a senior judge page can be seen here: Charles A. Porter.

Category

Senior judges should be categorized by adding the word "senior" after the state name in the judge category.

Examples:

A senior judge of the Minnesota Tenth Judicial District, would have the category: [[Category:Minnesota senior district court judges, Tenth District]]. Likewise, a senior judge from Iowa District Two would have the category: [[Category:Iowa senior district court judges, District Two]]

These will be subcategories of:

  • "Category:STATE COURT judges" (i.e. "Category:Minnesota district court judges")

and

  • "Category:STATE senior judges"

The latter will be a subcategory of "Category:Senior state judges"

Writing guidelines

The following sentence template should be included in the senior judge's introduction:

"NAME is a senior judge of the…"
"NAME assumed senior status on DATE and his/her current term ends on DATE."

Court pages

On the court pages, senior judges should be listed after the other judges in a section with the following format:

===Senior judges===
*[[JUDGE NAME]]
*[[JUDGE NAME]]
…etc.
