Most competitive elections of 2018 include congressional, gubernatorial, state legislative races and ballot measures
Middleton, Wis. - October 30, 2018: Among the thousand of races Ballotpedia is tracking on Election Day, the editorial staff has identified 15 elections as the most competitive and interesting contests to watch on November 6.
The list includes four U.S. House races, three U.S. Senate races, three gubernatorial races, and four state legislative chambers that will be decided by voters in 12 states.
The list is the result of a vote by Ballotpedia’s team of election experts and includes some of this year’s most well-known races, as well as few staff favorites that have flown under the radar. “Our intention in selecting these particular races is to provide factual summaries of the big races from a nonpartisan viewpoint and to bring to the forefront some important races that haven’t gotten as much attention," said Geoff Pallay, Ballotpedia’s editor in chief.
Ballotpedia will release its top 15 list of 2018 ballot measures later this week.
Readers can sign up to receive the results of these races via email as they’re called on election night. This year, Ballotpedia is also offering to send readers election results for their state the morning after Election Day. Subscription to both services is free.
