Elections
2014
Three at-large seats were up for election to four-year terms on the Yuma Elementary Governing Board in the November 4, 2014, general election.
Two of the seats up for election were regular four-year terms. Tito Richards joined incumbents Karen Griffin, Barbara Foote and Karl Koenig in the race. Foote was appointed to the board in 2012 to fill a vacancy. She sought her first elected term on the board.[1]
No candidate filed to run for the third seat, which was a two-year term. The governing board may file three names of potential appointees for consideration by the county school superintendent within 30 days after the notification of the vacancy, but the superintendent is not required to choose from that list. The county superintendent appointed a temporary member to serve until 2016.[2][3]
