Biography
Garcia is a retired Deer Park ISD educator, having spent 36 years in the district. Her husband, Bobby, was also an educator. All of their children graduated from Deer Park.[1]

The seats of Position 1 incumbent Rhonda Leigh Lowe, Position 2 incumbent Albert Lee Giddens, and Position 3 incumbent Ryan Taylor were up for election, in addition to a special election for the Position 6 seat held by Jason Morris. Lowe, Giddens and Taylor were all running unopposed, while Morris defeated challenger Barbara Garcia.
