Barbara Hobbs

Barbara Hobbs is a judge of the Florida 2nd Circuit Court, Group 2. She was elected to this position on November 6, 2012 (effective January of 2013) and her current term expires in January of 2019.[1][2]
Education
Hobbs received her B.A. degree from the University of Minnesota and her J.D. degree from Florida State University.[3]
Career
Hobbs began her career as an attorney with the Department of Transportation, where she was General Counsel of District Six. After nine years in that position, she joined the Florida Office of Attorney General. She spent two years there before starting her own law firm, Barbara Hobbs, PA, where she worked for approximately 16 years prior to her judicial election in 2012.[3]

2012
Hobbs received 49.1 percent of the vote in the primary on Aug. 14, 2012. She defeated incumbent Judge Josefina Tamayo in the general election on Nov. 6, 2012, receiving 54.3 percent of the vote.[4][2][5][6]

Hobbs received 26.9 percent of the vote in the primary, but she was defeated by Karen Gievers in the general election.[8][9]
