Barbara Hughes was a judge for the Fourth Judicial District of Colorado. She was appointed by Governor Bill Ritter in December 2010 and was later retained by voters in 2014.[1]  Her six-year term was set to expire on January 11, 2021. Barbara Hughes retired February 15, 2019.[2]

Hughes was retained to the Fourth Judicial District with 64.5 percent of the vote on November 4, 2014. [3]

The Colorado Commissions on Judicial Performance recommended that Judge Hughes be Retained. The full report is available here.

Education

In 1980, Hughes received a B.A. from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She received a J.D. from the University of Colorado School of Law in 1988.[4]
