Barbara Meter is a judge of the Saginaw County Probate Court in Saginaw County, Michigan.[1] She was elected to the court on November 4, 2014, for a six-year term commencing on January 1, 2015, and expiring on December 31, 2020. [2]

Meter ran for election to the Saginaw County Probate Court.
Primary: She was successful in the primary on August 5, 2014, receiving 38.7 percent of the vote. She competed against Stephan M. Gaus, Kent Greenfelder, Jim Hession, and Christopher Swartz.
General: She defeated Kent Greenfelder in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 56.6 percent of the vote. [1][3] 

Education

Meter received her bachelor's degree in elementary education, with a minor in mathematics, from Michigan State University in 1984. She received her J.D. degree from the University of New Hampshire in 1990.[4]

Career

Before her election to the Saginaw County Probate Court, Meter served as an assistant prosecutor in Saginaw County for nineteen years. Prior to earning her law degree, she was a first grade school teacher.[5]
