Recall supporters

The following grounds for recall were included in the application for recall petition:[2]

We regret to inform the community that a violation of state decorum occurred during the February 27, 2024 CUSD Board meeting. Despite collective efforts to voice concerns and advocate for students, Barb Mozdzen broke state law by addressing the crowd inappropriately. Instead of showing empathy towards a brave teen sharing their experience of bullying, Mozdzen chose to make irrelevant and hurtful remarks about the teen's school location. In denying the dignity of a human recounting their own victim story, Mozdzen displayed a shocking lack of empathy and understanding. As board president, this position of leadership sets the tone and example for the board and community. Mozdzen's actions not only disrespected the emotional vulnerability of the individual but also undermined the integrity of the Board. We believe in upholding the highest standards of conduct and respecting the voices of those who come forward with their stories. Mozdzen's callous behavior is unacceptable and does not reflect the values of our community. We call for the recall of Mozdzen from the CUSD Board. It is imperative our representatives demonstrate compassion, respect and adherence to the law in all their interactions, especially when addressing sensitive issues affecting our students and community.[3]
