Barbara Newman
Barbara Newman is a former justice of the Bronx County Supreme Court, Criminal Term in the 12th Judicial District of New York. She became a certificated Supreme Court Justice in 2011, after having served as an acting justice since 2007. Her last term expired in 2012.[1][2]
Education
Newman received her M.S. degree from City University and her J.D. and LL.M. degrees from the New York University School of Law.[1]
Career
Newman began her judicial career in 1988, when she was appointed to the New York City Criminal Court. She was reappointed to this court in 2007 and served until 2010. She also served as an acting justice from 2007 to 2010 before becoming a certificated justice.[1]
