Barbara W. McCrory is a judge for the Rock County Circuit Court, Branch 7 in Wisconsin. She was elected on April 3, 2012, becoming the first woman to serve as a circuit court judge in Rock County. Her current term expires in 2018.[1]

Education

McCrory received her bachelor’s degree in agricultural journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1983. In 1992, she earned her J.D. from University of Wisconsin-Madison.[2]

Career

McCory served as Rock County’s family court commissioner from 1999 until her election to the circuit court in 2012. Before that she worked in private practice at the Brennen Steil law firm in Janesville, WI.[2]

2012 election

McCrory ran successfully in the February 21st primary, defeating Mike Haakenson, Thomas McDonald, Harry C. O'Leary, Jack C. Hoag and Tod Daniel.[3] She won the general election on April 3, 2012, defeating Jack C. Hoag.[1][4]
