Barry Shapiro was a Democratic candidate for District 4 representative on the New York City Council in New York. He was defeated in the primary election on September 12, 2017.
Biography
Shapiro earned a master's degree in literature and a master's degree in filmmaking from New York University.[1]
At the time of his 2017 run for city council, Shapiro was retired from his position as an enterprise architect for marketing systems for American Express. His professional experience also includes work as a high school teacher and in the film industry.[1]
