Baselice & Associates is a national organization that conducts public opinion research. As of December 2025, the organization said its "experience in the fields of public affairs, corporate research, and legal research makes [it] uniquely qualified to perform survey research to assess the attitudes of customers, stakeholders, voters, and potential jurors."[1]

Background

Michael Baselice founded Baselice & Associates in 1997. His prior work included managing the Houston office for The Tarrance Group, conducting opposition research for the National Republican Congressional Committee, and creating the first Optimal Republican Voting Strength Manual in the country.[1]

As of September 2024, the company said it had "conducted over 3,500 survey projects ... [and] conducted polling for every statewide office in Texas from governor to state supreme court. Clients have included Secretary of Energy and former Texas Governor Rick Perry, Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, members of the US Congress, and dozens of state senators and house members across the state of Texas and the nation. "[2]

Electoral activities and influence

As of December 2025, Baselice & Associates conducted public policy research for candidates and officeholders in order to provide insights that helped shape campaign strategies and messaging. Survey work included economic issues such as tax relief, tort reform, and free trade; construction issues such as highway, school, and stadium bond measures; and social issues such as education, healthcare, gaming, and safety.[3][4]

Baselice & Associates conducted initiative, referendum, and issue polling; public perception, jury selection, and attitude polling; campaign communication evaluation; legislative issue evaluation; and internal constituency polling as of December 2025.[5]

Baselice & Associates cited the following successes: "our research assisted in defeating Prop 56, The California Budget Accountability Act (which was designed to lower the threshold for the legislature to increase taxes from two-thirds to 55) as well as nightly tracking from mid-September through election eve for the successful Schwarzenegger for Governor Campaign."[4]
