Bay Mitchell
Bay Mitchell is a judge for District 6 Office 1 of the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals. He assumed office in 2002. His current term ends on January 12, 2031.
Mitchell ran for re-election for the District 6 Office 1 judge of the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals. He won in the retention election on November 5, 2024.
Republican Governor Frank Keating appointed him to this position.[1]
Education
Judge Mitchell received his bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1976 and his J.D. degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1979.[1]
Career
After law school in 1979, Judge Mitchell began his legal career as an attorney in private practice. In 1993, he became a staff attorney for Judge Carl Jones of the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals. He worked in this capacity until he was appointed to the court in 2002.[1]
