My name is Beau Cannon. I am running for US Congress in the Georgia Congressional District 11. I am an Air force veteran who served for 8 years between 2005 and 2013. I performed military funerals in Arlington National Cemetery and worked on helicopters that performed combat search and rescue missions.

I served the country because I am a patriot who loves this country and wants the best for it and the people who live here. After I left the military due to a medical separation, I watched as partisan politics drive our country to a halt year after year. I wondered why our politicians cared more about lining their pockets instead of doing what is best for their constituents.

I have watched as people grew more and more disenfranchised by the government. We had an attempted insurrection and then partisan politicians did nothing. There was no oversight committee. They just tried to play it off as something that wasn't as bad as it was.

I became so disenfranchised by the system that I questioned why I served. No veteran or their family should every feel the way that I felt. This is why I am running. I am running to restore Honor, Dignity, and Respect to the American people.
  • Military and Veteran Healthcare and Mental Health
  • Police and Criminal Justice reform
  • Bring Respect for the American people back to Congress
As a veteran who suffers from depression and struggles to get the care that I need through the Veterans Affairs clinics, Military and Veteran Healthcare and Mental Health services are somethings I'm very passionate about.

As a Pansexual man, restoring and strengthening the protections and rights of the LGBTQ+ community that were ravaged by the former guy is close to my heart.

Human rights are important because unless has equal rights, no one has equal rights.
To stand true to the constitution and the American people. To do what is best for the American people, not stick to party politics. To listen to the needs and desires of their constituents and vote in line with those wishes and not what is going to put the most money into their pockets.
I want to leave a legacy that restores the faith of the populous in the elected officials that they elect. I want to build a congress that works for the best of the country as a whole, not the ultra wealthy.
The first historic event that I remember clearly is 9/11. I was in high school. I was shaken to my core.
I don't think that House members have to have government or political experience. I think that they need to have a desire and willingness to serve the people that they are elected to serve. Standing up for the people and being loyal to the citizens and not to a party.
I believe the greatest challenges as a nation over the next decade will be rooting out extremist mindsets from Congress and Senate. Repairing the trust of our citizens in the elected officials. We have a growing trend of extremism in this country. Between religious, political, racial, or hate, it all needs to end and we as citizens and law makers need to take bigger steps to remove hate from our society.

I think that it should be longer. For a 2 year term, the Representative spends a good amount of that time focusing on trying to re-elected. I believe that if we make the terms longer, that allows Representatives to focus on making laws and less on fundraising for re-elections.
