Higginbotham (Republican Party) ran for election for the 2nd District judge of the Louisiana 1st Circuit Court of Appeal. He lost in the primary on November 8, 2022.
Higginbotham was the former Section 2, Division M judge for the 19th Judicial District in Louisiana. He defeated Cleveland Coon in the 2014 election.[1][2][3]
Education
Higginbotham received undergraduate degrees in business and marketing from Louisiana State University and a J.D. degree from the Southern University Law Center.[4]

Primary: He was successful in the primary on November 4, 2014, receiving 29.0 percent of the vote. He competed against Cleveland Coon, Mike Davis (Louisiana), R. Chris Oetjens, and Jamie Morain Zanovec.
General: He defeated Cleveland Coon in the general election on December 6, 2014, receiving 52 percent of the vote.[1][5][6]
