|I am currently attending online courses at Washington University in St. Louis in an effort to obtain my Master's Degree in Legal Studies. My Bachelor's Degree is in Psychology. I have education and experience in the mental health field and in education, with a focus on early childhood and special education. Currently, I am homeschooling the two kiddos still living at home.
I love to cook and enjoy trying new and interesting recipes. My family and I spend a great deal of time outdoors. We raise chickens, we are starting a garden this year and we regularly take advantage of all the great parks and conservation areas nearby. I dabble in amateur photography and recently had one of my photos published in the Missouri 2022 calendar published by Indie Treasures.
If you need the labels; I personally identify as a fiscally conservative, pro-life, pro-gun, Christian, homeschooling Libertarian that supports individual freedom, government and personal accountability, school choice, reduced taxes, the rights of business owners and personal property owners and in keeping government out of healthcare. I am very passionate about what I believe in and can be very persistent and resourceful.
- Individual rights and personal freedom are both extremely important to me. Throughout history, the biggest threat to those principles has been large and overreaching government. It is my desire to reduce government involvement by; educating and encouraging citizens to get involved in local and state government, encouraging legislators on the local and state level to review and remove overreaching ordinances and statutes that infringe on the rights of individual citizens and property owners while creating mistrust and tension between them and local law enforcement and consistently voting against bills and measures that seek to or hold the potential to reduce individual rights and/or increase government authority.
- Government spending is out of control. I will encourage and work with local and state officials to reduce spending by helping them identify what the government should actually be providing for it's citizens and then cutting out the extras. I have also been looking into alternative methods of funding for things like the care and maintenance of our local parks.
- Parental choice regarding how to raise and educate children is very important to me and to our society. I will consistently stand up for parental rights. One way that I have been and will continue to do this is to be a supporter of school choice and to encourage parent involvement in the schools and at school board meetings. Over the years, fears about school shooters (who are rarely parents of students) have opened the door for schools to make it more difficult for parents to be active participants in their child's education by doing things such as, requiring extensive background checks and limiting the time they are able to spend in the schools as volunteers.
