I have lived in District 21 for over 22 years and love this community. Participating in leadership positions in our growing city has given me some insights into what is important to the citizens of Meridian. I have been a small business owner, a precinct captain, and past president of the Meridian Chamber and the Meridian Kiwanis Club. I am currently on the board of the Meridian Library Foundation and I work in the media field as a recruiting specialist.

I am married to Tom McKinstry and we have four daughters and eight grandchildren who have motivated me to step into politics.

I am honored to have been recognized as Small Business Person of the Year and Women of the Year for Meridian.

We enjoy golfing with friends and barbeques with family. We attend community events and enjoy good movies and good books.
  • One of my top priorities is to protect Public School Funding. There is an unconstitutional voucher program promoting tax dollars be used for private, religious and home schooling programs. The State of Idaho's constitution clearly states that our tax dollars are to be used for funding public education only. It's important that we fully support public school funding and not dilute our efforts by passing unconstitutional bills that take money away from public education. Protecting school and city libraries from lawsuits and extreme policies that our legislation and governor has passed is a priority. It is important that we work for all of our citizens, not the minority who are pushing private agendas.
  • Healthcare. When government gets into the medical business of dictating what doctors can and cannot do, we have a problem. Medical specialists are leaving the state because of the government overreach which interferes with doctors taking care of their patients. Healthcare should be affordable and accessible for all.
  • There are many issues that need to be addressed. We need to fight for equality for all and focus on affordable housing programs, and protecting Idaho's natural resources.
Increase state funding for public schools to include higher teachers' salaries and early childhood learning opportunities. The legislature must establish a long-term plan to do as the Constitution reads and fully fund public schools. It is unconstitutional to use tax dollars to support private and religious schools. Support student graduates with career choices: certification, vocational training, affordable junior college, or a 4-year college.
Eleanor Roosevelt for her bravery in fighting for what was right. She was bold, and innovative while coming up with solutions to help those who could not fight for themselves. Ruth Bator Ginsburg for her insights, toughness, commitment, and unwavering spirit.
Honesty and the ability to listen. We are elected to office to represent our districts and our state. There is no room for personal agendas. When you take the oath of office the people we represent deserve to be heard and represented.
I have been in several leadership positions, owned a small business, and worked for large and small corporations. I have lived in Meridian for over 30 years and 22 of those years have been in District 21. I have seen how growth has impacted our community, increased housing prices, overburdened roads, infrastructure battles, employment, and the environment are issues to be concerned about. We need to focus on maintaining our quality of life and stopping government overreach.
Use the Constitution as the guide to do what's right. Protect our freedoms, fight to keep Idaho beautiful, and stop government overreach. Take the issues seriously; affordable housing, help for the homeless, prison reform, affordable healthcare, growth and fiscal responsibility.
To encourage all legislators to work together to fight against extremism and find solutions for the issues that we face today.
I was a waitress when I was 14 in the small town I grew up in.
Biographies. It is a way to meet interesting people and learn from them.
The economy, transportation, and growth. Healthcare and the environment.
It is beneficial for some experience while getting a different perspective from newcomers is important. We need a better balance and term limits would allow us to choose candidates to replace politicians who have made it a life career.
Yes. To achieve what we need for all Idahoans, we must work together, using common sense, and remaining objective. We have too many legislators with their own agenda which does not have the majority's best interests in mind.
I want to learn and gain experience in the current office of House Representative in District 21B.
There have been many concerns about enough funding for public education. People have been angry about the attack on our libraries and book banning.
A Bill that protects public school funding and abides by our constitution. It is unconstitutional to spend tax payer dollars on private and religious schools.
State Affairs and Education
The citizens of Idaho deserve transparency on how tax dollars are spent. Fiscal responsibility is the number one priority to running our state effective and efficiently. Taxpayers should have a voice if there are concerns and legislators are the ears of our constitutes.
