Becky Skillman
Rebecca "Becky" Skillman was the 49th lieutenant governor of Indiana. She was the first female elected to hold this office. She was sworn in on January 10, 2005, and served until January 14, 2013.[1]
After leaving office she became president/CEO of Radius Indiana, an economic development company.[2]
Political career
Lieutenant governor (2005-2013)
Skillman was first elected lieutenant governor in 2004, and she was re-elected in 2008.
Skillman oversaw the Office of Tourism Development, Energy Group, and Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority. She chaired the Indiana Counter Terrorism and Security Council, the intergovernmental entity responsible for homeland security. She also served as the secretary of agriculture and rural development.
Indiana State Senator (1992-2004)
In 1992, Skillman was elected to the Indiana State Senate, where she represented Lawrence, Monroe, Jackson, Washington, and Orange counties. She became majority caucus chair, the first woman in history to serve in Senate Republican leadership.

Skillman initially considered a run for governor in 2012, but decided not to run.[3]
2008
On November 4, 2008, Skillman was re-elected as lieutenant governor on a ticket with Mitch Daniels.[4]
2004
On November 2, 2004, Skillman was first elected as lieutenant governor on a ticket with Mitch Daniels.[5]
