Born and raised in West Michigan, I have always wanted to make a difference in my fellow community members lives. I believe that most people are good and want find real solutions to the most pressing issues moving forward; I am the person to bring that sentiment to our state government. I will always stand behind my beliefs, but I am not afraid to listen to views that differ from my own. I have always been an entrepreneur which gives me a well rounded background of knowledge and skills that are key to good policy making. I understand the delicate balance that exists between business, workers, community and government, and I intend on working hard to find efficient, effective, and honest solutions that work for all. I received a B.B.A from Western Michigan University Majoring in Finance with a Minor in Economics. I am a licensed captain and run a local healthy cookie business with my incredible wife Anna. In conclusion, I believe i'm the right person for the job; not because I am the best politician, but because I have been all over this great state and I have heard the struggles and worries of peoples from all walks of life. I feel that I have been called to action by a higher power and I hope that any success I have will be for the good of everyone in our beloved state of Michigan.
  • Parental rights in how children are educated is a key and fundamental issue that I will always fight for.
  • Our government shall not infringe upon our constitutional rights. Most important of which are freedom of speech, rights to a firearm, freedom of assembly.
  • Make Michigan Great! by making our state the best place to start, own, and operate a business
I am most interested in protecting individual liberty and economic prosperity, while also caring for our abundant natural resources. There are so many individual issues, it would be impossible to list them all. I just wan't the public to know that I sincerely want our state to succeed for many generations into the future, but that will not be possible without consistent, honest, and effective leadership in government.
Having strong morals and a clear vision for the future are, in my view, the most important characteristics for an elected official to posses. A strong leader should recognize that our decisions have a long lasting impact on the lives of everyone we represent, therefore, we should avoid short term thinking and instant gratification and instead focus on what will make us stronger over time.
An elected official must protect individual rights and liberties, provide for the safety and security of all citizens by ensuring that our emergency service members have the resources they need to perform their duties at the highest possible level, and promote economic growth by making Michigan a top tier destination for businesses to operate.
I think the first major historical event I can remember as a kid would be the terrorist attacks on New York. I remember how the fear and anxiety held a firm grip over the hearts and minds of our family, friends, and community members. Though I didn't realize it at the time, this moment would go on to be one of the most impact events of my life.
My first job was working as a web developer for an underground mining company here in west Michigan. I worked on the project for 2 years before leaving to work with my uncles on their tour boat business.
