Benja R. Fussell was a justice of the peace in Concordia Parish, Louisiana. He ran for re-election in 2014 but was defeated by Justin Conner. His term expired on December 31, 2014.[1]

Fussell was a candidate for the Ward 1 seat on the Concordia Parish Justice Court in 2016. Fussell was defeated in the general election on December 10, 2016.

Louisiana held partisan elections for local judicial offices in 2016. A primary election took place on November 8, 2016, and a general election took place on December 10, 2016. The filing deadline for candidates who wish to run in this election was July 22, 2016.[2] Elijah Banks defeated Benja R. Fussell in the Concordia Parish Justice Court (Ward 1) general election.[3]

Judges of the Louisiana Justice of the Peace Courts are each elected to six-year terms. The elections for this court are partisan contested elections. To serve on this court, a judge must be a local resident for two years, younger than 70 years old, and have a law degree.[4]
