Benjamen Johnson is a judge on the Northwest Judicial District in North Dakota. He was appointed by Governor Doug Burgum (R) on February 3, 2017, to replace Judge David W. Nelson. Johnson took office on March 13, 2017.[1]

Biography

Johnson is from Froid, Montana. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota, in 2004, and a J.D. from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 2008. His professional experience includes working as an attorney in private practice, beginning in 2008. He served as an assistant state’s attorney in Burke County from 2008 to 2010 and was the acting Burke County state’s attorney from 2010 to 2011. At the time of his judicial appointment, Johnson also served as the city attorney for Tioga, Ross, Bowbells, Wildrose, Portal, and Flaxton.[1]
