Benjamin Logan
Benjamin Logan was a judge for the 61st District Court in Michigan.[1] He was first elected to the court in 1988.[2] Logan retired on November 30, 2014.[3]
Education
Logan received his undergraduate degree from Ohio Northern University in 1968 and his J.D. from Ohio Northern University Law School in 1972.[2]
Career
Prior to joining the court, Logan was an attorney for sixteen years. He also worked for two years with Legal Aid in Grand Rapids.[2]
Censure
In July of 2010, Logan was censured, or publicly reprimanded, by the Michigan Supreme Court for allowing a public official facing charges to be released before his arraignment. The Judicial Tenure Commission investigated a number of charges, but only found Logan guilty of "creating an appearance of impropriety."[4]
2012 election
Logan was re-elected after running unopposed in 2012.[5][6]
