Campaign themes

2016

The following issues were listed on Lucas' campaign website. For a full list of campaign themes, click here.

  • Energy: Alternative Energy is the only way of the future, but the time of transition is of the most importance. You can not “Cold-Turkey” your way to any new way of life. One would only be naive to think Nuclear Power is not going to be a critical factor to a balanced transition.
  • North American Infrastructure: The United States infrastructure is like an automobile engine. When the parts start failing, no matter how small, it only leads to engine failure. Our engine is so old, the entire system has to be overhauled that a temporary band-aide cannot fix.
  • Education: No matter how we educate a student academically, we need programs that address social assimilation to address the multicultural future of the U.S. and the world.
  • Gun Control: The simple fact is that no law can replace the lethal ramifications of gun violence or replace the loss of life and impact on families and communities.
  • Immigration: he federal government has to change the penalty for crossing the border illegally from a misdemeanor back to a felony; but allow all undocumented persons a chance to register.
