A Benona Township Library Levy Increase measure was on the August 7, 2012 ballot in the township of Benona, which is in Oceana County.
This measure sought to increase the current library levy by a rate of $.25 per $1,000 of assessed value for a period of four years in order to further pay for library services in the township. It was approved.

Text of measure
The question on the ballot:
Shall Benona Township, Oceana County, Michigan impose an increase of up to 0.25 mills (twenty-five cents per $1,000 of taxable value) in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution and levy it for four (4) years, 2012 through 2015 inclusive, for the purpose of providing library services for Shelby Area District Library, which 0.25-mills increase will raise an estimated $35,000.00 in the first year the millage is levied?[1][2] |
