Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

My name is Bernadette “B” Tedesco, and I am running for Adams County Commissioner, District 2. As a proud Colorado native, I have spent most of my life in this beautiful state, with a brief period in Hereford, AZ, where I attended Southern Arizona Bible College. My husband and I have been together for twenty-nine years, and we have a wonderful daughter. For the past twenty-eight years, Adams County has been my home, and I have lived in my district for nineteen of those years. Professionally, I bring twenty-six years of experience in the government sector, having served in various support roles within Police Departments, Courts, and the District Attorney’s Office. This extensive background has equipped me with a deep understanding of our community’s needs and the workings of our local government. I am enthusiastic about serving our community and committed to making Adams County an even better place to live.

• Protect the well-being of our communities by supporting balanced energy initiatives, which will create good paying jobs now while preserving clean air and water for future generations.
• Foster a business-friendly environment that encourages growth, sustainability and create a vibrant economic landscape where businesses flourish, revenue grows, and our county thrives.
• Find solutions to reduce and/or stabilize property taxes, ensuring seniors and veterans can retire with dignity and security.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Economic Development - Reducing inflation and boosting economic growth can help create a thriving future for the county, benefiting both families and businesses.
Public Safety and Infrastructure - Enhances the quality of life for residents and ensures that the county remains a safe and well-maintained place to live.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

Integrity - Builds trust and ensures decisions are made ethically.

Transparency - Fosters accountability and trust
Accountability - Responsibility, answering to the people.
Fairness - Treat all people equally and ensure all constituents are represented and respected.

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

Adams County Commissioner manages the affairs of the county, overseeing county income and expenses: adopt annual budgets, establishes policies and procedures, adopts ordinances, grant licenses, construction and repair public roads, bridges, and drainage facilities. Considers applications for funding from community agencies and represents the people of Adams County.

What legacy would you like to leave?

I was able to improve the lives of the people in Adams County with my service.

What are your views on financial transparency and government accountability?

Ethical governance builds public trust, ensures accountability and government is expected to act with integrity and honesty. Transparency is crucial in preventing corruption.
