Bernard C. "Jack" Young
Jack Young (Democratic Party) was the Mayor of Baltimore in Maryland. Young assumed office on May 2, 2019. Young left office on December 8, 2020.
Young (Democratic Party) ran for re-election for Mayor of Baltimore in Maryland. Young lost in the Democratic primary on June 2, 2020.
Before taking office as mayor, Young was president of the Baltimore City Council in Maryland. He was first elected to the position on February 9, 2010. Before becoming Council President, Young represented District 2 on the city council from 1996 to 2003 and District 12 from 2003 to 2010.[1][2][3]

Young was mayor of Baltimore during the weekend of May 29-31, 2020, when events and activity took place in cities across the U.S. following the death of George Floyd. Events in Baltimore, Maryland, began downtown on Friday, May 29, 2020.[6] No curfews were issued. The national guard was not deployed.
