Bernice D. Siegal
Bernice D. Siegal is a justice of the Supreme Court 11th Judicial District, Civil Term, in Queens County, New York. She was elected to this position in 2008 and took office early the following year.[1][2]
Education
Siegal received her B.A. degree from the City University of New York at Queens College in 1972, her M.P.A. degree from New York University's Graduate School of Public Administration in 1979, and her J.D. degree from the New York Law School in 1985.[1]
Career
Siegal began her career in 1978 as an Associate Director for the Lincoln Medical & Mental Health Center. The following year, she joined the Albert Einstein College of Medicine as the Assistant Director for Clinical Affairs. She then worked as an associate at the law firms of Epstein, Becker and Green (1985-86), Ronald Rosenberg (1986-87), and Robert Katz (1987-90). From 1990 to 2000, she served as Associate and Counsel for the New York City Council.
In 2002, she began her judicial career, following an election to the New York City Civil Court of Queens County. She served there until 2011. She was the Supervising Judge in 2007 and 2008. In 2009, she joined the Supreme Court.[1]
