Bernie Rechs was the Trustee Area 4 representative on the Marysville Joint Unified board of trustees in California. Rechs lost a re-election bid in the general election on November 8, 2016.[1]

Four of the seven seats on the Marysville Joint Unified School District board of trustees were up for by-district general election on November 8, 2016. In their bids for re-election to the Trustee Area 1 and 3 seats, incumbents Glen Harris and Jim Flurry, respectively, ran unopposed and won re-election by default. Trustee Area 2 incumbent Anthony Dannible was defeated by challenger Susan Scott. The Trustee Area 4 race featured incumbent Bernie Rechs and challengers Paul Allison and Terry Biladeau. Allison won election to the board.[1][2]

Funding
At the time of this election, the Yuba County Elections Office did not publish school board candidate campaign finance reports online. Ballotpedia staff directly requested this information, but the county would not provide the reports without cost.[3]

This election was canceled due to lack of opposition. Incumbent Bernie Rechs was re-elected by default.[4]
