Bert L. Cottle was a Democratic candidate for District 12 of the Alaska House of Representatives. The primary election was on August 24, 2010, and the general election was on November 2, 2010. Cottle was a candidate for the Alaska State Senate in 1998, but he was not elected. He serves as the mayor/councilman of the city of Valdez.

About

Cottle graduated from Wasilla High School in 1972. He then graduated from Trinidad State College, where he studied Law Enforcement, in 1974. In 1981, he graduated from the Drug Enforcement Agency Academy. He went on to graduate from the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy in 1994. Cottle is a former Chief of Police for the city of Valdez. He has also worked for Alaska State Homeland Security.

Cottle was unopposed in the August 24 primary. He was defeated by Republican Eric A. Feige in the November 2 general election.[1]
