Beth Bloom is a federal judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. On February 6, 2014, President Barack Obama nominated Bloom to fill a vacancy on the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.[1] The United States Senate confirmed Bloom on June 24, 2014, on a vote of 95-0.[2]
Prior to joining the federal judiciary, Bloom was Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court, Civil Division, in Florida. She was appointed by Governor Charlie Crist in October of 2010. She was re-elected in 2012 and her term would have expired in January of 2019.[3][4][5]
Education
Bloom was born in Bronx, NY on June 24, 1962. She received her B.S. degree from the University of Florida in 1984 and her J.D. degree from the University of Miami School of Law, graduating cum laude in 1988.[6][7]

On February 6, 2014, Beth Bloom was nominated by President Barack Obama to fill a vacancy on the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.[1] The vacancy was created when Donald Graham when he took senior status on December 15, 2013. On her nomination and three others:

Bloom was rated Unanimously Qualified by the American Bar Association.[10]
The Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing for Bloom on April 1, 2014.[11] The committee reported Bloom to the full Senate on May 8, 2014 by a voice vote.[12] The United States Senate confirmed Bloom on June 24, 2014, on a vote of 95-0.[2]
