Melba Elizabeth "Beth" Bowen is a judge on the Third Circuit Court for Harford County in Maryland.[1] She was appointed to the court by Governor Martin O'Malley on December 22, 2011 to replace retired Judge Thomas E. Marshall and was elected to a full fifteen-year term in November 2012.[2][3] Her current term ends in 2027.[4]

Education

Bowen received her undergraduate degree in English and history from the College of William and Mary in 1978 and her J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law in 1981.[5]

2012 election

Bowen ran unopposed for her appointed seat on the Third Circuit Court.[8] Bowen was successful in her bid, receiving 98.7 percent of the vote.[9][10]
