Beth Joice was a candidate for at-large representative on the Peoria Unified School District Governing Board in Glendale, Arizona. She ran for a two-year term in the November 4, 2014, general election.

While Joice filed to run as a regular candidate for this race, she was removed from the ballot because she did not specify whether she was running for a two or four-year term. She ran as a write-in candidate.[1]

While the governing board is a nonpartisan office, Joice is a self-identified Republican and former sponsor of the Young Republicans Club at Sunrise Mountain High School.[1]

Three seats were up for general election on November 4, 2014. Two of the at-large seats up for election were regular four-year terms. Incumbent Kathy Knecht faced challengers William Bercu and Beverly Pingerelli.[3]

The other seat up for election was a two-year term to complete an unexpired term. James Kistner was appointed to fill this vacancy when it originally occurred. However, the length of the unexpired term exceeded two years and, therefore, was required to be filled by an elected official at this general election. Incumbent Hal Borhauer, who was serving a two-year term, ran to fulfill the rest of the this term. He was challenged by Beth Joice and Judy Doane.[3]
