I am a moderate Republican that decided to run because after the redistricting a new district of 80,000 citizens was not going to have a choice as to who served them in our State Senate. The incumbent is a career political Democrat with no Republican challenger. I have always been an advocate of the power of choice so this seemed to be a calling I couldn't turn down. I have been a successful Realtor in three different states, in fact the top producer of a national company of 6,600 agents. I contribute this success to being a student of business and leadership. I have a masters degree in Interpersonal and Organizational Communication, am a nationally certified Co-Active Coach, have been a national speaker and started a consulting business called Smart Talk that helps small businesses and enterprises grow and transition. I think my business background and education will be of value to my role of representing my district. I am not an experienced politician but I have had a life time of experience to bring to the table and this will be my last career.
  • A state's successful growth is dependant upon good schools, an enducated and skilled work force. As a Realtor, I know that if thse three things don't exist, people don't want to move here or stay here.
  • We have to support and empower our law enforcement and judicial systems so they have what they need to make our cities and communities safe. Again, all our citizens want and deserve to live where they feel safe.
  • While we want to attact big business, we have to support our small business owners and create an enviornment that helps new business start ups.
I am most passionate about public policy that severs the majority of the citizenry and creates environments that improves the quality of lives of Arkansans. We have to work together to give our kids safe schools and neighborhoods. If we have better schools that are serving the community needs, we'll have a populous that will have better jobs and thus safer neighborhoods. Better educational opportunities will create more citizens with economic abilities that will benefit the entire state. Only through education will we be able to combat poverty and homelessness. We have businesses that need work forces and I believe the business community is willing to work with the state to help solve a lot of our problems in schools and in our lower income communities.
I am considered to be very nice....and I think that is a good thing.
