I am a marriage and family therapist who has served Lubbock in many capacities over the past 11 years. I have focused on working with children and diverse providers during that time, including Lubbock ISD. I want to serve my community as a whole now through this trustee position.
  • I want to focus on the mental health and the culture of Lubbock ISD for students, parents and teachers.
  • I want to focus on teacher retention and recruitment.
  • I want to focus on ensuring adequate training and resources for ARDs, 504s, and other ADA accomodations.
I want to ensure equitable access across each school. I want more community engagement with parents, businesses, and universities.i am passionate about reducing redundant testing and success of teachers based on student performance measures. I want to ensure that our teachers have adequate support and we are being intentional to see each person as an individual and not only a statistic. That being said, I understand the business aspect and the importance of increasing student attendance and numbers within our district.
I look up to people who use their power and platform for the greater good. The list is long. I look up to people with integrity who are willing to say sorry and do the work necessary whatever the cost.

9/11. I was in my keyboarding class in junior high when the TVs were turned on and we watched the 2nd plane crash into the twin towers. I made a memorial in Dumas, Tx at my school that still stands today.
I worked as an elementary afterschool care coordinator in a school that has since been closed by Lubbock ISD.

It is two fold. It is my responsibility to be ethical and respectful while finding common ground the other board members. It is to serve with the intention if the district in mind and what's best for our community ensuring my decisions are not about personal gain or clout.
Every child, parent, staff member and business in the Lubbock ISD district.
Firstly through representation. I am biracial. I am not the majority. Second through my education I understand the needs of minorities and the underrepresented populations. I can listen and ask questions amd speak to prominent stakeholders for these communities as well.
Money. Grant's and priorities.
Stress. Culture of support and acknowledgement.
This is a broad decision but I'd like it to be based not on istation scores.

Hopefully, we will not have to address this again anytime soon. Kids need ample access to safety resources.
Holding parent forums and creating literature that increases access across the district and changing any administration that seems to not welcome parent participation.
