Betsey Hamilton
Betsy Hamilton was a 2011 Republican candidate for District 3 of the Mississippi State Senate.
Hamilton is an English teacher in Mississippi's public schools. She is the chairman of GM&O Rails-to-Trails Recreational District, and is a member of the Commission on the Future of Northeast Mississippi.
Hamilton obtained a B.A. from the University of Mississippi.[1]

Hamilton lost in the 2011 election for Mississippi Senate District 3. She ran unopposed in the primary on August 2, 2011. Incumbent Nickey Browning ran unopposed in the Democratic primary. Browning defeated Hamilton in the general election on November 8, 2011.[2]

Hamilton serves on the boards of several community organizations, including the CREATE Foundation, New Albany Tourism Advisory Board, Union County Development Association, and New Albany Public Schools. She is the member of the Commission on the Future of Northeast Mississippi. Hamilton and her husband, Tim, have three children.
