Betsy Ankney was the campaign manager for Nikki Haley's (R) 2024 presidential election campaign. Ankney previously served as the director of Haley's leadership PAC, Stand for America PAC.[1] Ankney served as political director for the National Republican Senatorial Committee in 2020.

Career
Ankney began her career working for the Republican National Committee from 2009 to 2011 as a regional political director. She worked at Epiphany Productions and Collins Anderson Philip Public Affairs before returning to the RNC as a deputy political director in 2012. She worked as a regional political director for the National Republican Senatorial Committee in 2017 and national political director for the organization during the 2020 election cycle.[2]
In 2016, she was the campaign manager for Ron Johnson's (R-Wis.) successful U.S. Senate campaign, and in 2018 was the campaign manager for Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner's (R) unsuccessful re-election bid.[2] In 2021, she became director of Nikki Haley's (R) leadership PAC, Stand for America PAC.[3]
Ankney received a bachelor's degree in political science and business from Vanderbilt University.[2] She is originally from Toledo, Ohio.[1]

Campaign strategy
In a May 2023 memo, Ankney wrote, "Nikki Haley knows Americans are tired of all the drama of the past. The Haley campaign is focused on putting in the work on the ground in early voting states. [...] At the end of 2022, the media narrative was that Ron DeSantis was like Donald Trump, minus the drama. In fact, DeSantis has the drama, without the charm. It’s Nikki Haley who best represents those who want a different style and approach, and a new generation of leadership to fix America. Voters deserve a choice, not an echo. "[4]
