Betty Boyd (b. September 16, 1943) is a former Democratic member of the Colorado State Senate, representing District 21 from her appointment in 2006 to 2013. She served as Senate President Pro Tempore.

Boyd previously served in the Colorado House of Representatives from 2001 to 2006.

Biography

Boyd attended Fairfield University in 1965 and earned her B.A. in Sociology from Upsala College in 1965. Her professional experience includes working as Director of the Lutheran Office of Governmental Ministry and Director of Campaigns and Development for Caring Connection.

Boyd was ineligible to run for re-election to the Colorado State Senate in 2012 due to term limits.

2008

On November 4, 2008, Boyd was elected to the 21st District Seat in the Colorado State Senate, defeating opponent Natalie Menten (R).[1]

Boyd raised $143,583 for her campaign, while Menten raised $11,761.[2]
