Betty Peters
Betty Peters is a former member of the Alabama State Board of Education, representing District 2. A Republican, Peters was first elected in November 2002 and was sworn in the following January. She served until January 2019.
Biography
A native of Dothan, Alabama, Peters graduated from Dothan High School in 1965. She received a bachelor's in accounting from Troy State University at Dothan in 1983. Peters has served as a secretary at Auburn University, U.S. Taiwan Defense Command, and Fort Rucker and as an administrative aide at the Social Security Administration office in Dothan. Peters has also worked as an accountant at Peters Municipal Associates.[1]

Peters was first elected to the Alabama State Board of Education in November 2002, and was sworn in the following January. She was reelected three times, and served until January 2019.
