Bev Scalze
Bev Scalze (b. October 27, 1943) is a former Democratic-Farmer Labor member of the Minnesota State Senate, representing District 42 from 2013 to 2017.
Scalze did not seek re-election to the Minnesota State Senate in 2016.
Scalze served in the Minnesota House of Representatives, representing District 54B from 2005 to 2013. She served on the Little Canada City Council from 1979 to 2002.
Biography
Scalze's professional experience includes working as the owner and operator of Hoffman Corner Heating and Air Conditioning. From 1966 to 1996 she was the owner and artist of Scalze's.[1]

On November 4, 2008, Scalze won election to the District 54B Seat in the Minnesota House of Representatives, defeating Julie Johnson and Paul Gaston. [8]

Taxpayers League of Minnesota
The Taxpayers League of Minnesota, a Minnesota-based taxpayer advocacy organization, releases a legislative scorecard for the Minnesota House of Representatives and Minnesota State Senate once a year. The scorecard gives each legislator a score based on how they voted in the prior legislative term on tax issues and “their efforts to balance the state budget without a tax increase.” The organization also compiles a legislator’s individual "Lifetime Score."[10]

Scalze received a score of 8 percent in the 2013 scorecard, ranking 32nd out of all 67 Minnesota State Senate members.[11]
2012
Scalze received a score of 57% in the 2012 scorecard, ranking 43rd out of all 134 Minnesota House of Representatives members.[12]

Scalze received a score of 15% in the 2011 scorecard, ranking 77th out of all 134 Minnesota House of Representatives members. [13]

Scalze has been a member of the Friends of Roseville's Harriet Alexander Nature Center Board, Vadnais Heights Rotary Club, Historical Society of Little Canada, Sierra Club, Riverfront Facilities Ad Hoc Advisory Committee of Ramsey County, and the Attorney General's Task Force on Pharmaceuticals, Medicare and Family Health.[1]
