Growing up as the son of a small-town mayor and village administrator, Bevan became familiar with how municipal government works. That led him to pursue career opportunities focused on small business, good government, and smart public policy.

For the past decade, Bevan has had an up-close seat to watch council members, mayors, and city managers from throughout central Ohio and the state do the work they do and implement best practices at the local level.

Today, Bevan works at the Ohio Municipal League (OML) – a statewide association of more than 730 cities and villages – where he represents communities on policy issues such as economic development, public safety, and funding.

Prior to that, he spent several years at the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC), where he gained knowledge and experience in the areas of transportation, land use, sustainability, long-range plans and programs, and public involvement. Bevan has called Hilliard home since 2012. He lives in Old Hilliard and is most closely affiliated with the City of Hilliard as the chair of the city’s Planning & Zoning Commission. He's currently serving his sixth year on the commission.

He’s also involved in the community through organizations such as the Hilliard Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association, Hilliard Ohio Historical Society, and Keep Hilliard Beautiful.

  • FAMILIES Bevan Schneck will put families first—supporting safe neighborhoods, strong community spaces for all ages and abilities, and a city environment where you and your kids can thrive. That includes strong support for our police and school resource officers.
  • FUN Bevan Schneck will work to further promote parks, trails, and recreational programs for all ages, support community events, add new amenities, and attract businesses that create vibrant places to gather.
  • FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY With families concerned about their tax burden, Bevan Schneck will take a fiscally responsible, commonsense approach to city finances. He will ensure your tax dollars are spent wisely and transparently with an emphasis on core city services. He’ll also support Hilliard’s long-term financial growth.

Bevan's career is focused on good government, smart public policy, and community development. At the Ohio Municipal League, he has worked on any issue that affects the everyday actions of cities and villages throughout the state. During his many years at the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission, he worked on transportation, land use, and sustainability—key issues for any growing city. He currently chairs Hilliard’s Planning & Zoning Commission and serves on community organizations like the Hilliard Ohio Historical Society, the Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association, and Keep Hilliard Beautiful. He understand the issues impacting our community and have a proven track record of working to solve them.

Experience and Trust. Those seeking to be on city council should understand how local government works—and how it should work. Residents need to know an officeholder has the experience to carry out that office in order to place trust in the person. Trust is earned and centers around fairness, transparency, and doing the right thing.

September 11, 2001 is not the first event Bevan remembers, but he does consider it the most impactful historical event during his lifetime.
