Williams ran in the 2013 election for New Jersey General Assembly District 34. Williams was bracketed with Denise Baskerville and defeated by Sheila Y. Oliver, Thomas P. Giblin, Rayfield Morton, Anthony Moye, and Clenard H. Childress, Jr. in the June 4 Democratic primary. The general election took place on November 5, 2013.[2]
