An effort in Thomaston, Maine, to recall Selectwoman Beverly St. Clair was initiated in June 2019. St. Clair resigned from her position after petitioners submitted enough signatures to put the recall on the ballot.[1]

Recall supporters

The recall effort began in response to the resignation of Town Manager Valmore Blastow Jr., who, in his resignation letter, accused St. Clair of pushing him out of the position. Recall petitions against St. Clair accused her of "behaviors, combative attitude and harassment with regards to Thomaston Town employees, committee volunteers and residents attending town meetings while acting as a select board member."[1]
