The question on the ballot:
Shall the previously voted increase in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution on general ad valorem taxes within the Township of Big Rapids, Mecosta County, Michigan, be renewed at 1 ½ mills ($1.50 on each $1,000.00 of taxable valuation) for a period of six years, 2012 to 2017 inclusive, to provide funds for Fire-Rescue Department purposes, and shall the Township levy such renewal in millage for said purposes, thereby raising in the 2012 calendar year an estimated $200,000.00?[3] |
